The 23-year-old has faced a handful of criticism from rival fans but Chelsea have long remained committed to continuing with Jackson who scored 14 Premier League goals last season and has two strikes from his first three games under Enzo Maresca.
His initial deal took him through to 2031, but Jackson has now signed on until 2033 with an improved salary as a reward for his impressive debut season.
“I am feeling very good and am very happy to sign a new contract and stay at the club,” Jackson said.
“It feels great the club has confidence in me. I am working very hard. I am very happy to extend my contract and stay here for many years.”
Despite Jackson signing new deal , the blues are believed to remain in the market for a new striker and remain interested in Napoli’s Victor Osimhen. despite failing to secure his signature before the end of the summer transfer window.
Osimhen ultimately signed for Turkish side Galatasaray on a season-long loan which includes a break clause for the January transfer window, before which Chelsea will decide whether to reignite their pursuit.
